Hart Talks

NEW!  A talk in costume as if by Hannah Glasse herself - But first catch your hare ...
Hannah Glasse was one of the earliest English female cookery book writers, who in 1747 published: The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy – Pre-dating Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management by more than a century. The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy was the ‘Must Have’ kitchen manual on both sides of the Atlantic for over a century and it gave good sound basic advice for both cooks and servants alike. Hannah Glasse had an interesting life including a spell of imprisonment for debt and a successful fashion business patronised by the rich (and not so rich) and famous of the day.
